You’re moving into a house with security devices
A new house may come with an installed home security system. All the components work, are installed in the best places, and are ready to go. In this example, just pick up the phone to call and establish a new monitoring contract. A Vivint installer will still come to your home to ensure there are no integration issues, and they could offer ideas on upgrades. It's a preliminary visit, and you can have your 24/7 monitoring set up without paying for any new alarms and cameras -- unless you add on.
The previous owners can move an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer cost to make the transfer a snap. If the outgoing residents are moving to a condo or smaller home, turning over the security contract may be a part of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your existing devices with you
You may want to take your existing Vivint system with you to your new home when you move. Luckily, it's pretty easy to transfer, as many components are portable. You can uninstall each component yourself or contact a Vivint expert to come and take down everything. Then a pro will hang the same features -- and any smart items you need to add -- in your new house. And your home security contract will stay the same.
